This bungalow sits on a prominent corner site, and we were asked by the owners to submit a planning application to maximise the views by chamfering off the corner at first floor level. A pre-application had already been submitted which rejected the concept of a wraparound balcony with corresponding fenestration changes. Working with a local planning expert, the scheme was approved and the delighted clients now have an uninterrupted panoramic view of the sea and Hengistbury Head.

They are private people but had the following words to share

“Our project was to join the 2 balconies in our upstairs room and create a wrap-around corner view and balcony.  After 12 years of our project being turned down by BCP Planning, Alex came up with a design that we felt sure would be acceptable.  He recommended a planning consultant who was able to address all the concerns the planning officer had raised and produce a supporting planning statement. This was our final attempt to get planning before we had decided to drop the idea, but within a few weeks we received the news we had finally been granted permission.

Alex also recommended a trusted builder and engineer and so we were able to achieve the wrap around balcony and windows that we had so long desired.
