Elmstead Road, Canford Cliffs, Poole

This family house was designed on our client’s adjacent land. After several applications to Poole Borough Council, the decision was appealed. Although this was dismissed by the Appeals Inspector, he did not rule out the possibility of an infill plot. By adhering to the guidelines, we designed a more contemporary four bedroom house which finally won approval. It was a hard fought battle, but we got there in the end!

Brickwork and render were used the elevations to be more sensitive to the adjoining buildings but with a contemporary feel. The windows were framed in through colour render margins. The roof was a 30 degree pitch slate roof.
