Colour in Architecture

Colour is an important signifier of cultural history. Innovative use of colour is a major trend in contemporary architecture and has a renewed appreciation both as a decorative and a spatial tool as shown strongly in the work of great Mexican architect Luis Ramiro Barragán.

The following images represent colour as an ingredient and main tool to the joyful work of Emmanuelle Moureaux, a Tokyo-based French architect who designed the Sugamo Shinkin Bank in Shimura and with her colourful palettes she evokes many happy emotions for the visitors to this building. You can read more on her fabulous work on Sugamo Shinkin Bank on link below.
